This is a great premium aromatic tobacco! I will first say that I am not a fan of McClelland tobacco’s due to their ketchup smell, mostly because I hate ketchup. However this stuff smells like morning panckakes soaked in maple syrup. So if your not a fan of sweet tobacco’s then this is probably not for you. However if you are seaching for a classic air cured Black Cavendish that will please the room this is a great choice. It’s quite wet out of the tin, so some drying is recommended. Town Topic has very little tongue bite and, is a very light smoke that even the wife will enjoy!

This tin is a premium pressed Virginia flake tobacco, and is surprisingly my first try of any McCelland tobacco. I was lured in by the beautiful tin, and the fact that it was the “Christmas” blend. I must say that I was not a fan at all, I think they should change the name to McClelland Ketchup Cheer 2009. I know many of you like the vinegary ketchup aroma and flavor of the McCelland tobaccos, but I don’t not like ketchup on anything, and I couldn’t get past that when smoking. I did some reading over at tobaccoreviews.com and I think I need to put this stuff away for a couple of years to let it age and then give it a try. Question to my readers: does the ketchup aroma, and vinegary flavor mellow with aging like I’ve been reading? What are your thoughts of McClelland blends?
