Savinelli Pipe

My very first high quality non drugstore basket pipe was a Savinelli, and it was this pipe that got me hooked on the pipe smoking/collecting hobby.  The same day that I bought my Savinelli pipe, I actually purchased 6 others from Jeffery Stone Ltd in downtown Houston.  I was 23 years old and the I walked into the store where I was met by Jeffery Stone himself.  I let him know that I was there looking for 7 nice pipes, one for myself and 6 others for the groomsmen in my wedding.  He treated me like a peer rather than a 23 year old kid that knew nothing about pipes.  He was wearing a suite, I was in t-shirt and jeans, yet still he spoke with me with respect and class.  Purchasing your first pipe, much less 7 can be a frightening thing for most, but Jeffery Stone was a pleasure to work with!  My Savinelli pipe is still a pleasure to smoke, and is one that I will alway keep and enjoy.  In fact still years later when my groomsmen and I get together we often all grab our Savinelli’s and enjoy great conversation and a great smoke.  Here is the pipe that I picked years ago.  A sandblasted bend billard, it’s been through the ringer but still is one that I find myself going back to again and again.
