J.M. Boswell’s Tobacco

J.M. Boswell’s Tobacco

Today a package arrived at my door, 16 oz’s of J.M. Boswell’s hand blended tobaccos.  I stocked up on some of their various aromatic tobaccos as I have heard that Boswell is one of the best at hand blending aromatics.

Here are a few that I am looking forward to:

Boswell’s Best

Rum River

Vanilla Cream

Christmas Cookie

and the Famous “Berry Cobbler”

I will be sure to post my thoughts on each blend as time passes.  I am really looking forward to “Berry Cobbler.”  When I opened the box there was a faint smell of play-dough???  I’m not sure of that was just the box it came in, or if it is one of the tobacco’s strong casings.  More thoughts to come.  Happy pipe smoking.

I personally wasn’t a fan of Boswell’s Best, but Christmas Cookie is excellent. If you like English blends, his Northwoods is worth a smoke as well.

I love Northwoods, it is probably my favorite tobacco. I have also tried the Berry Cobbler, Pom Holiday, and Chocolate Cream. Those were ok with the Berry Cobbler being one of the better aromatics that I have smoked.

I had a similar experience to Sean – eh on the Best, but I did enjoy Christmas Cookie quite a bit. Of course, I am not much of an aromatic smoker, so take that with a grain of salt.

I found Boswell’s Best Burley to be nothing more than some BLWAB with a bit of BCA added. Nothing special. I have avoided their other blends.

+1 on the Northwoods. Love that blend. Their 965 equivalent is good as well, but I can’t say how it stacks up to the original.

Yep: I like Northwoods, but I look forward to your berry review!
