Sillem’s Black
Got my package in the mail and was very excited to try Sillem’s Black after the many positive review I have read. I opened the tin and was surprised by the aroma. It was almost licorice with a smokey latakia backbone. Visually you could see the nice Black Cavendish which helps this blend becomes smoother the longer you smoke it. There also seemed to be some Virginia that brought about a sweet note throughout the smoke. Overall a great smoke, especially for those who are just getting into smoking english blends as this is a great first step that introduces the latakia while still maintaining a great aromatic flavor and room note.

Thanks for letting me enjoy this tobacco with you the last time we shared the blessed leaf together. Your description was spot on. This tobacco was one that you come across that smells the same way in the package as it does when you smoke it…lovely.

This is an AWESOME tobacco! Just wait till you try Sillems Green
. Not the aromatic stuff for someone whos not into coconut (pina colada) flavor, but for the rest of us… it is pure heaven

This isn’t the first I have heard of this one and I really just started smoking a pipe, so I will have to start a list of ones to try in the future and add it to the list. Everyone seems to have good things to say about both the black and the green.
I received some for Christmas. It’s a terrific smoke. It get a lot of compliments on its room aroma, too. The smoke has a pleasant creamy richness to it. It produces HUGE clouds of smoke, too, which is a big plus in my book.
When I run out I’ll be going back for more.
