Lava fuel was recommended to me by Marty at Sherlock’s Haven in San Francisco many years ago. I have always used this brand, and have never had any problems.

I got my Old Boy (a beautiful sandblast briar) about a year ago as well … It’s still a treat every time I light up. As for butane, I use Lucienne Quadruple-refined butane. I think I picked it up at CupoJoes.com a while ago…
