Corona Old Boy Lighter

Corona Old Boy Lighter

About a year ago I purchased a Corona Old Boy lighter, and I haven’t regreted it ever since.  Pipe-Smokers.net can whole heartedly recommend this pipe lighter.  The styling of the lighter is superb, and the performance is great.  The flame is not intense at all and makes for a great even burn when lighting the pipe.  I have never tasted butane or chemical burn from lighting with is pipe lighter.  My only complaint is that is does not preform very well outdoors in breezy conditions.  One of best features is that the fuel lasts FOREVER,  I rarely have to refill this lighter.  Another feature that I use every time I smoke my pipe is the hidden tamper found on the bottom of this lighter…….genius.  I must say well done IM Corona, the old boy has served me well and from what I read about these lighters it will keep going for another decade or two.

  1. This boy is also perfect for Cigars, of corse, using the right kind of gas :)

What kind of “gas” do you use in yours? Does anyone else have any recommendations for butane refills?

  3. I got my Old Boy (a beautiful sandblast briar) about a year ago as well … It’s still a treat every time I light up. As for butane, I use Lucienne Quadruple-refined butane. I think I picked it up at CupoJoes.com a while ago…

Lava fuel was recommended to me by Marty at Sherlock’s Haven in San Francisco many years ago. I have always used this brand, and have never had any problems.

    Thanks for the recommendation Preston!
